Bio
Kindle (she/they) is a dynamic and multi-disciplinary artist hailing from the city of Detroit. With a deep-rooted passion for music and an eclectic range of influences, Kindle has emerged as a creative force in the world of DJing, drawing inspiration from 90s NYC hip-hop, Motown, Detroit electronic music, and funk. Kindle's musical journey began at an early age where they were exposed to a diverse array of sounds, from the soulful melodies of Motown legends to the gritty beats of Detroit's electronic music scene. Using these influences, she began to be the mixtape and playlist creator for her peers at a young age. These formative experiences laid the foundation for Kindle's distinct artistic style. Drawing from the raw energy and storytelling of 90s NYC hip-hop, Kindle developed a unique approach to DJing that seamlessly blends different genres and eras. Their sets are an electrifying fusion of classic samples, soulful grooves, and infectious electronic beats. With an innate ability to read the crowd and create an immersive sonic experience, Kindle takes listeners on a musical journey that transcends boundaries and captivates audiences.
What does liberation mean to you?
True liberation comes from the feeling of community. Creating spaces were we all can live, breathe, and move as our true selves. Black music provides the foundation for these spaces.
