Bio

Up and coming Richmond DJ/producer TAA TUU SWÉ has been honing his craft for 11 years, and has played at small venues and events around Richmond starting as early as 2012. He recently has made waves in the local radio scenes in Richmond and Charlottesville, spinning guest mixes for WRIR (Richmond) and WTJU (Charlottesville). SWÉ includes a wide array of genres in his sets and productions. House, Jersey club, ballroom, techno, afrobeats, rap, jazz and soulful influences aren’t unusual to hear in just one of his sets. His sound has been described as “ethereal”, “energetic”, “retro”, “futuristic”, and “multicultural, but very black”. TAA TUU’s goal is to preserve the history of electronic music and uplift underground black talent of today, yesterday, and the future. TAA TUU SWÉ continues to spin shows in Virginia and is currently working on his own productions for future release.

What does liberation mean to you?

Liberation to me is LIVING your most authentic truth and not just SURVIVING. It's also about being free of judgement and oppression. There is nothing more freeing than to be yourself, to stand in it confidently, and not allowing anyone to interfere.
