BLACK TECHNO MATTERS
Founded out of the need for a platform to uplift black artistry in techno music, Bernard Farley started Black Techno Matters, a collective on a mission to reclaim techno as a manifestation of black expression. The collective creates online and in-person spaces that celebrate the black origins of techno, champion the originators of the genre and gives a space for new creatives to find their voices as artists.
Since its start in 2019 , Black Techno Matters has grown into a collective, organizing events, playlists, mixes, music releases, and other resources highlighting and celebrating hundreds of black artists from around the world.

DEE CLARK
Dee Clark is a force to reckon with and one of few remaining DJs in the DMV spinning pure vinyl! She is a native Washingtonian, and has been an artist and DJ for over 20 years. Her principal focus: to promote, enrich, and elevate quality music and sound stimulating the mind, body and soul!
Clark grew up in the Chocolate City surrounded by a family that loved music of all kinds ranging from: Earth Wind & Fire, Donna Summer, Pat Benatar, James Brown, Labelle, War, Curtis Mayfield and Bob Marley. She started collecting vinyl at 8 years old.
It was during the mid 80’s when her mother gave her the address to a club called The Club House because she didn’t want her to go to Go Go’s. She was so amazed by the music and the way the DJ mixed familiar with unfamiliar music she never heard before made people dance and feel that after her first visit, she and her friends were regulars at the Club House until it closed in 1990.
Through the years, she has collaborated with many DJs and artists as well as formed small collective artists groups such as the Hide Out at Church St. Gallery, Vanguard, the RCH project, in D.C. and the House~ology in Baltimore, Md. She is currently one of the founders and members of the collective DNA Injection, Dee Clark Freestyle Bang out Sessions and Speakeasy Disco! Clark loves family & the community. She loves giving back and pouring into those with special needs. Not only does Clark spin vinyl for adults, she also loves spinning for the youth. Children love the energy & and free flowing sound of the beats.
CLARK’s selection is eclectic and soulful, spinning Jungle/Drum & Bass, House, Lounge, Oldies, Jazz, 80’s Rock, Hip Hop, Trip Hop, Wave, Alternative, Punk, World beats, Reggae, Latin flavored music, Lounge, Love songs, Soul R & B. Dee Clark plans to spin music at the deepest level until she or the planet is no more.
