BLACK TECHNO MATTERS @ 618 - DAIYAH, Amal, Qemist

Mark your calendars! We're bringing DAIYAH (@daiyahdaiyahdaiyah0), founder of the NY techno party RNR (Rumble in the Ramble) and one of the most prominent voices in New York techno, to BLACK TECHNO MATTERS Sat Oct 8 at 618 (@bar618dc). A refreshing burst on the scene, DAIYAH has exceeded freshman status instantly. Regularly playing the Brooklyn neighborhood spots, and having played for NY mainstays such as BASEMENT, BOUND NYC, and UNTER, and moving through the podcast circuit, her sound is heavy but fresh. She'll have support from DC's own genre-jumping DJ and producer AMAL (@_amaldc) (who's also a member of Black Rave Culture) as well as QEMIST (@qemmy_), host of Computer Noise Radio, who will be repping the underground Memphis vibes.

Upstairs we'll have FUTURE DRUM CIRCLE, an open drum machine performance led by Black Techno Matters founder B_X_R_N_X_R_D (@b_x_r_n_x_r_d) featuring two roland tr-8s drum machines. Listen and dance to the live electronic drums or hop on a tr-8s and add to the energy.

Dancers Elijah Limitless (@elilimitless) and Steeltoe (@steeltoe11) will be on call to hype the crowd. If you'd like to be a dancer send us a DM for details. We have a couple slots remaining.
